Sorry, I’m super late on this Missoni post from Fashion’s Night Out. I’ll work on my consistency! Hopefully you all had a chance to snag some Missoni for Target stuff because I’m sure by now the collection is completely sold out. A friend and I went to the launch of the Missoni x Target pop up store in Bryant Park, NYC before  it reached Target stores. On top of arriving an hour and a half early, we waited on a nearly 3 hour line to get in, then another hour line to pay after enduring the chaos inside. During the first two hours of the entire 2-floor store, I would say nearly everything sold out. With those prices, its no surprise. Here are a few of my favorite items that I got. Ta-ta!

Seeing Spots

Fall/Winter 2011 seems like a collaboration of very diverse trends into one huge, fashion overload (in a great way). First we saw jewel-toned hues, then the eclectic mixture of suede with leather, and of course combination of textured patterns everywhere. Now, designers all over are seeing spots! Everyone from Marc Jacobs to Stella McCartney is implementing polka-dots into their collections. Although we’ve seen it on the runways, it may be a little much for your daily ensemble to contain all pieces polka-dot; but add one dotted statement piece for a very well-rounded (pun intended) wardrobe!

Shoe Expansion at Bergdorf’s

In case you haven’t already heard, Bergdorf Goodman has expanded their shoe salon on 5th Avenue at 58th Street in New York. Whether you chose to browse online or at their 2nd floor shoe salon, Bergdorf’s updated presentation of flats, boots, platforms, and stilettos is sure not to disappoint. Here are a few of my favorites, Bergdorf’s 5th/58th blog.

Tee Party

The power of the t-shirt is probably the most underestimated item in one’s wardrobe. These simple luxuries can easily take you from day to night, or casual to formal. Being a college student, I live in t-shirts and find a high quality piece to be worth the investment. One t-shirt can translate to several appealing outfits. For instance – to class: pair with cotton leggings, for happy hour: pair with leather leggings, for a night out: tuck into a bandage skirt with pumps, to a bar: just add jean leggings and booties, to the office: layered underneath a blazer, hanging out with friends: loosely paired with denim shorts, the possibilities are endless. Here are my must-have t-shirts of the moment. From Top Left: UNIF fancy bones tee, $68, Karmaloop. / Diesel t-wings t-shirt, $75, SSENSE. / Tie Dye tunic, $18, Mikkat Market. / Marni short sleeve leather top, $606, The OutNet. / Obey the native triangle slub domain tee in burnt sienna, $34, Karmaloop. / Givenchy, jungle t-shirt, $405, SSENSE. / Ashish sequined silk t-shirt, $245,  The OutNet. / Really a mermaid lennon sweater, $198, WildFox Couture / Alexander McQueen bead embellished cotton jersey t-shirt, $262, The OutNet.

Daily Jackpot

As a bit of a perfume connoisseur, one of my favorite hobbies is definitely collecting a variety of fragrances – which I never really get to full finish a bottle of. This can be quite an expensive habit, but we all know, buying the perfume that’s a little more expensive goes a very long way. I fell in love with this Tokyo Milk perfume at the Fontainebleau Spa in Miami. To me, Sparrow No. 18 resembles Chole Rosebud parfum fragrance for almost 1/4 of the price! If you’re willing to make the investment, I definitely would recommend the Chloe floral fragrance as it is a limited time cosmetic and the Tokyo Milk perfume seems will be around for a while; however, both would be fabulous additions to your fragrance arsenal.

Tokyo Milk No. 18 Sparrow parfum, $28, Beauty.com
a blend of neroli & citrus, crisp greens, gardenia & rosewood Chloe rosebud parfum, $110, Cosmetic Mall
a blend of pink peony, freesia, lychee, magnolia flower, lilly of the valley, rose, cedarwood, amber, honey

The Lovely Bones

As much as I am a fan of The Lovely Bones, this post is appropriately about the ongoing infatuation with skulls and skeletons in the fashion world, not the story about a pedophile. I began my love affair with skeletons in a high school art class, when I realized they were probably one of the best things I could draw, keeping it semi-realistic looking. There is something about the natural beauty of a skull, which is inevitably found in all of us, that mixes a rough exterior with an enchanting beauty. Thinking “skull“, of course the first designer that comes to mind is Alexander McQueen, but this boney masterpiece is becoming more and more prevalent throughout each season’s trends. Here are a few of my favorites.

1. DSQUARED2 skull t-shirt, $190, Shopbop. 2. Juicy Couture skull stud earrings, $45, Bloomingdales. 3. Rebecca Minkoff skull ipad case, $125, Shopbop. 4. Alexander McQueen leather and brass skull keyfob, $275, Net-a-Porter. 10. Alexander McQueen skull-print silk-chiffon scarf, $295, Net-a-Porter.
