The Lovely Bones

As much as I am a fan of The Lovely Bones, this post is appropriately about the ongoing infatuation with skulls and skeletons in the fashion world, not the story about a pedophile. I began my love affair with skeletons in a high school art class, when I realized they were probably one of the best things I could draw, keeping it semi-realistic looking. There is something about the natural beauty of a skull, which is inevitably found in all of us, that mixes a rough exterior with an enchanting beauty. Thinking “skull“, of course the first designer that comes to mind is Alexander McQueen, but this boney masterpiece is becoming more and more prevalent throughout each season’s trends.
